"Gigi
& Mike" Concert Programs
Interested
organizations can request that we schedule concerts. We can be booked
for public events, such as libraries, museums, organizations, and
schools. We do not tend to book "birthday parties" (though
we love cake), but will book house concerts for families and kids
of all ages.
To
each concert in 2008, we're adding for each guest a free membership
in our "Kids' Music Club." Each guest will receive
a membership card to a web tool where they can get monthly lyrics,
free mp3s, and gradually other resources to encourage kids to sing
and play along.
Our
main concert themes for 2008 include the following:
- The
Everyday Magic of Songs with Gigi & Mike's Kids Music Club:
Learn to create excitement and fun out of thin air with folk music
and award-winning songsters Gigi & Mike. Their interactive/participative
program looks under the magic of music and teaches them all the
moving parts -- rhythm, language, history, humor, and storytelling.
Kids of all ages will learn some basic percussion, song structure,
and ways to make music at home.
- Sing-Along
Hootenanny with Gigi & Mike's Kid Music Club:
Kids of all ages can sing lively folk music with award-winning
songsters Gigi & Mike. Sing along and share music from the
'70's, 50's, 30's, and '90's -- 1890's that is. Gigi & Mike
throw a musical party for the whole family with their lively sing-along
hootenannies. They use folk songs to investigate history and storytelling,
as well as share how music is written, how lives used to be lived
in generations past, how musical instruments can work for kids,
and how the kids can tell their own stories through singing. Kids
can play percussion, help make up new lyrics, learn rhyme and
language skills, and just plain old have fun singing along.

Creepy, Crawly, Slithering, Slimy Sing-Along:
Sing-along about bugs, critters, and things that go bite in the
night with award-winning folk songsters Gigi & Mike. Kids
of all ages can learn about rhyme, language skills, humor, and
history. This interactive/participatory program will include teaching
about songs as storytelling and basic percussion. Our friendly
bug and critter tunes include music about spiders, bees, ants,
flies, worms, frogs, and other creepy crawly critters.
